ok so I am very behind when it comes to reading. I LOVE all reality tv shows that are on VH1. You name it, I've seen it and am proud to admit it! But after seeing Flavor Flav, Brett Micheals, New York and now Daisy try to find love and sadly, come up empty handed, I started wondering what was I getting out of watching this. And let me tell you, when you start recognizing these reality tv characters popping up on other shows on other networks, it just shows how much reality tv you watch. One can only take so much ridiculous, scripted-but-"real" life action. So I decided to do something about it. Why did I name the subject for my entry "Twilight" you ask?

Well, I started reading... I started with Anthony Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential which was great. It taught me some things and made me really rethink Sunday Brunch buffets and "chef specials". My fiance is reading the book now and seems to be enjoying it. His parents owned a few restaurants and so he can identify with some of the behind the scenes stuff about restaurants.  If you ever eat at a restaurant, which is ALL of you, then you should at least skim through the book.  It will make you be alot nicer to the person bringing you your food.

Then I moved on to Julie and Julia: My Year of Cooking Dangerously which was just great! So funny and let me tell you, if anyone has opened a Julia Child cookbook or watched her on TV massaging meat while talking in her glorious Julia Child way, you will laugh and adore this book. And it will tempt you to get in your kitchen and make crepes or some kind of meat with a aspic! I actually noticed that I started looking with alot more butter while I was reading this book. hahah

So yea...now I am on to Twilight. I traded in a few of my japanese craft books for the books. I needed to make room on my craft book shelf so it was good to trade. So far I am a bit addicted to the book. I already read 160 pages last night and sat a coffee shop for about an hour tonight glued to the book!

I'm pretty nice to people at restaurants because I don't want spit in my food. ;)

I can't believe you sat for an hour in a coffee shop reading Twilight! It's funny that you said that you're addicted but didn't say the book is actually good. =P I've said it from the very beginning when I first read the book that it's addicting like crack. You know it's bad, but you just keep coming back for more.

One day I'm going to make you read Pride and Prejudice. ;D
